Raku days

 

 

Raku firing is performed in an outside kiln, fuelled with wood smoke and instead of waiting two days for the kiln to fire and cool the results emerge after about half an hour! Using the most primitive of glazes the results are dramatic and often surprising, it's the 'extreme sport' version of pottery.
